Two ����AV alumni have been elected as new members of the College’s 28-member Board of Trustees, with terms beginning July 1. Erika James ’91 is dean of the Wharton School of Business.

In August, Haile will embark on a transformative journey as a Schwarzman Scholar, pursuing a master’s degree in global affairs from Tsinghua University in Beijing.

The path to a career of service has been paved for Genevieve Krieger ’24. Earlier this year she was awarded the Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship. 

Each year, the Downing Scholarship funds two graduating seniors from ����AV to pursue a one-year master’s degree at Cambridge. Leo Alaghband ’24 and Zongqi Zhai ’24 have been selected to represent ����AV at Downing College this fall. 

Four recent ����AV alumni have spent the past year at the University of Cambridge pursuing graduate degrees, supported by scholarships that ����AV helped them obtain. They have been engaged in research as well as extracurricular life.

The fellowship supports superlative students who are pursuing or planning to pursue full-time research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) or in STEM education.

Sixteen recent ����AV alumni have been awarded Fulbright grants for the 2024-2025 cycle, matching last year’s number of awardees which made ����AV a top producer of Fulbright students. 

A grant from the Institute of International Education’s American Passport Project can help 25 ����AV students who are Pell Grant-eligible to receive funding for their first U.S. adult passport. This can open doors to international study.
